FIRST EVER REUNION WAS HELD AT ALBERTON RUGBY CLUB ON 15-07-2023
Alberton rugby club is current 112 years old. The committee and Joe Steyn started working on this event for about 6 weeks. A group of 170 members who played for Alberton and coaches who coached Alberton and previous committee members were invited to this special occasion. Plus minus 90 members attended the event that was held in the restaurant at Alberton rugby club. Two Legends who played for Transvaal in the 70s and 80s Corrie Peypers and Hammer Engelbrecht were called to the stage to make speeches and talked about old rugby stories. This was a very emotional moment. A huge thank you is going out to Stefan Fourie and his wife Cally from the restaurant who prepared this special meal for the quests. Corrie Peypers and Roelof Berg were special quests in the 1st side change room where they handed out the rugby jerseys for the players. Before the start of the 1st side match against Raiders rugby club all our yesterdays years legends were called onto the field and were introduced to the spectators and they formed a tunnel for the rugby players to run onto the field. A special song was played to the legends and partners. The song was YESTERDAYS HERO. Emotional it was indeed a day to be remembered. Special coffee mugs were handed out to the quests in remembrance of their old club.

FIRST OF A KIND FOR THE ELANDE REUNION FOR ALBERTON EX PLAYERS
A reunion will take place this coming Saturday when close to 200 ex rugby players will take part in a first ever event arranged by the club. This will go down in the record books and in the future regular reunions will be arranged for these players. After the function a parade will take place on the field introducing and welcoming these ex players. This will be an event not to be missed. A big thank is going out to Joe Steyn and Oom Manie Reyneke who is busy with the arrangements.
